
She is a member of the bars of the State of Delaware, the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the United States Tax Court. A graduate of the University of Delaware (BAAS International Relations) (Advanced Honors Certificate) and the Widener University School of Law (J.D.), graduating magna cum laude. While at Widener she served on the Delaware Law Symposium Journal and was awarded the President’s Award. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a Wolcott Fellow for the Delaware Supreme Court for Justice Randy J. Holland and a judicial law clerk for the Sussex County Superior Court for the Honorable Richard F. Stokes. She concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, estate planning and elder law.
She is a former chair and the current vice chair of Elder Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association, and the National Academy of Elder law attorneys, an at large member of the Board of the Southern Delaware Estate Planning Council, and the Terry Carey American Inns of Court where she currently serves on the Executive Committee. Deirdre also serves on the Board of the ACTS Legacy Foundation, President of the Board of Commissioners of the Georgetown Public Library, serves as the Ambassador for Kent/ Sussex County University of Delaware Alumni Blue Hen Network and is on the Board of Ambassadors of the Beebe Medical Foundation. Deirdre resides in Georgetown with her husband Jason, an associate professor of psychology at Salisbury University and her children Donavan and Callan.
